Green Tacky Filters

Green tacky filter panels are a ceiling intake filter designed for paint booths that require higher initial particle capture efficiency than standard polyester blankets. The “tacky” designation refers to a tackifier — a wax-based adhesive coating applied to the polyester fiber — that physically traps dust, pollen, and airborne particles on contact rather than relying solely on mechanical filtration. This makes them particularly effective in environments with high ambient dust levels or where contamination control is a priority.

When to use tacky panels vs standard polyester blankets

Standard polyester ceiling blankets and tacky filter panels serve the same function — cleaning intake air before it enters the spray zone — but tackified panels hold particles more aggressively and are less likely to release captured dust back into the airstream when airflow velocity fluctuates. They are a good choice for shops in dusty environments, older buildings with high ambient particulate levels, or operations where surface contamination is a recurring problem. The wire frame construction also makes them easier to handle during installation compared to floppy blanket-style filters.
