Powder Coating Filters

Powder coating booths have different filtration requirements than liquid spray paint booths. Because powder coating uses electrostatically charged dry powder rather than atomized liquid paint, the exhaust filtration system needs to handle fine dry particulates rather than wet overspray. The filters in this collection are selected specifically for powder coating environments — capturing airborne powder particles before they reach exhaust fans and ductwork while maintaining the airflow needed for an efficient coating operation.

Products in this collection

  • HEPA Filter H13 (24×24×12 inches) — True H13 grade HEPA filtration that captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns. Used in powder coating booth exhaust systems where fine particle capture and air quality compliance are required. The 24×24×12 format fits standard commercial powder coating booth exhaust housings.
  • Charcoal Filter Blanket (48×100×1/2 inches) — A dual-function filter combining overspray capture with activated charcoal for odor and VOC control. While primarily used in liquid paint booth environments for waterborne coating exhaust, charcoal blankets are also applicable in powder coating operations where minor solvent vapors from pre-treatment or curing are present.

Filtration in powder coating environments

Recirculating powder coating systems recover undeposited powder for reuse, which reduces the load on exhaust filters. However, fines — the smallest powder particles that don’t adhere to the part — cannot be economically reclaimed and must be captured by the exhaust filtration system. HEPA-grade filtration ensures these fine particles are removed from the exhaust air rather than being discharged into the shop environment or atmosphere. Filter replacement interval depends on powder throughput — inspect monthly and replace when differential pressure across the filter increases noticeably or when airflow through the booth begins to drop.
